Foraging ranges of A. cerana vary between different studies, but generally Apis honeybees prefer to forage within 200–300 m of their nest [27]. In all studies reviewed here, half of the observations showed A. cerana foraging within 250 m from the hive, and most (95%) A. cerana foraged within 500–900 m (Punchihewa, 1985 in ). Maximum foraging ranges of 1,500 m to 2,500 m have been observed.
